Universitas Dhyana Pura (Undhira) recently welcomed students from two of its international partners, Kansai University in Osaka Japan and Heilbronn University in Germany, for various programs related to international student mobility. Fifteen students from Kansai University joined five Undhira students in a three-week educational program throughout the month of February 2019 in the form of voluntourism in Blimbingsari—co-organized with Undhira, Blimbingsari Village, and LKSA Widhya Asih. Meanwhile, five Heilbronn University students recently began their international semester program at Undhira (19/02), in which they will spend five months learning about social entrepreneurship within the local context of sustainable development in Bali.

Global outlook is one of the traits in Undhira’s character education curriculum, implemented in various activities including international exposure. In a joint-activity (18/02), students from Japan, Germany, and Indonesia were seen interacting with one another in ice-breaking activities, sharing of experiences, and practicing traditional dances from each country. “Exposing our students to other cultures, either through receiving guest from overseas or sending our students abroad, is very important for Undhira’s internationalization efforts,” claimed Ms. Christine Suyasa, head of International Affairs.

Each year, Undhira offers two international semesters in a program titled Intrapreneurship in Another Perspective—offering 30 ECTS in collaboration with Heilbronn University Germany. In addition, Undhira also hosts Kansai University (Osaka) and St. Andrews University (Osaka) students in annual work-camp program. Additionally, Undhira sends two students annually to St. Andrews Univeristy with full scholarship to take part in a two-semester exchange program there. Undhira students and graduates also have the opportunity for internships in Germany, United States, Japan, Malaysia—among others.
